wednesday in-house: little animals

if you are looking for some art to adorn your childs' bedroom walls then you have to have a look at the animal print shop. they have the most adorable photo prints of baby animals. you could cluster a few of them together, or just have one large print, or even mix it in with other wall art. they look adorable in nurseries and playrooms, you can see for yourself below. when you see these animals your heart just melts... they are so cute and the photographs really capture the personality of the animal. you can read more about sharon montrose (the photographer) and her work here.

fashionably late friday: natasha goldenberg

natasha goldenberg is a style icon among the russian fashion pack (she used to work at russsian grazia), and you probably have seen photos of her if you visit any fashion blogs or have seen street style photos around fashion events. her style is a little more eclectic but i find that even if its not my taste of clothing she looks fantastic and wears pieces that may push my fashion sensibilities beyond the “norm”... so its a great source of styling inspiration. she’s is the current director for clothing label kova & t, and launched her own fashion line called tzipporah. what i wanted to share with you most of course was her pregnancy fashion style...very cool, sometimes dressed up, fashion forward and cute. the last photo is of her cute little girl. you can see more of her style on her tumbler. get inspired...

a late wednesday in-house: toys off the floor

toys are becoming really sophisticated these days, with many parents searching high and low for unique pieces that they and the child can enjoy and treasure. some are even antiques, collectables, really expensive, or due to “obsessions” our kids may be having at a given time you may have just amassed a ridiculous amount of one category of toy! in any case they can pick them up off the floor and you can display them on the wall of a room to make almost a artistic piece.

the greatest outcome of this visual treat...it reduces your chance of stepping on them! i think we’ve all stepped on a lego, a toy car or a dinosaur that has made you think your going to die on the spot from the pain. side note...hubby stood on one of ds toys and it broke off in his foot! poor guy couldn’t walk for a week lol. its funny now.

so whether it be a shelf, a little wooden house, a crate, or an old printer drawer... it looks great, kind of a modern version of a grannies display cabinet of collections! do you have a collection of toys? how have you managed or displayed them?

btw if your looking for something to hold your treasures search etsy for wooden crate, shadow box, wooden printer draw, wooden letter press printer tray, wooden house shelf etc for lots of options. also those pastel interior wooden houses are from ferm living.
oops i don’t know the source...if you can help me source this picture i would appreciate it :)

messy monday: drinking your veggies

we just got a juicer at our house and its soooo exciting we’ve been going a little juice crazy! so this messy monday is dedicated to juicing. its actually a fun activity with little d helping pick and put the fruits in (counting the berries etc) and helping with the pusher... and we get to drink a delicious healthy snack at the end of it, so it works well on many fronts.
its not so easy to get little d to eat veggies that aren’t incorporated into his meal (sometimes even those get picked out) bar a few favourites, so in addition to his favourite fruits i (secretly) added a bit of this and that!
heres our ingredients: i guess you can tell which is my bucket and which is d’s! i had celery, kale, carrots and 2 apples and d had the rockmelon, apple and blackberries (this is the secret part plus 3 mini carrots and a 1/4 of a piece of celery ).
as i was washing the fruits and veggies d prepared this and made me take a photo of it lol
the finished product...yum (and the kale drink may not look appetising but it was actually tasty!)

fashion friday: scotch and soda

loving this brand scotch and soda, hadn’t heard of them before but they are a pretty big brand based in amsterdam thats been around since the 80s....before i go on...dont worry they ship all over the world. their clothes are cute and eclectic and mix and match to make a fun and colourful outfits for kids. they pride themselves on the quality of their garments and attention to detail. in 2008 they started making kids clothing in line called scotch shrunk where they literally shrunk mens styles to little sizes...see what you think...
